Happy International Women’s Day!!
Today we celebrate all women, especially working women. Today (March 8th) focuses on the general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women for their economic, political and social achievements. To be honest with you, I’ve never even heard of this holiday but if it gives women an opportunity to be nicer to each other, I’ll celebrate it! Since I was a teenager, one of the most common issues I’ve seen & experienced was the difficulty of dealing with other women. Not saying all women are hard to get along with but there are those popular, influential cliques that can definitely challenge a girls confidence with the potential for serious consequences. One upsetting statistic is that everyday there are more than 160,000 students that do not want to attend school because of bullying (teasing, loneliness) by their peers. Everybody wants to be “popular” and well liked, but it’s much more important to be a nice person rather than be one of the pretty ones. Today is a day to take a look at your life & how far you have come. Celebrate your strengths, intelligence, beauty & never stop fighting for greater! We have the ability to conquer any task with the power of dedication & drive. Don’t stop until you succeed & if you don’t succeed, try again.
Take the time today to recognize the great women who have impacted your life & helped you become a stronger & nicer person. Your mom, a friend, a co-worker… these are the women who have helped shape you a person. Let them know you appreciate them! Always remember that the important people in your life will love & accept you no matter what.
1 more day till the weekend!!
