About Kimm

Hi! I’m Kimm Russo a Certified Personal Trainer as well as a Group Fitness Instructor. I’m known for my love of burpees and a wide variety of other heart pumping plyometric exercises. My motivating perspective and positive outlook on life has been successfully changing lives for over 9 years. Fitness, which at one time was only considered to be my hobby, has now become my way of life. Because of my deep compassion and knowledge of personal and group fitness training, my ultimate goal is to continue to change the lives of my clients, both current and new. I will customize routines for clients of all ages and tolerance levels. This has led to a great deal of success and has changed the lives of many people for the better.

I was born on September 27, 1983 in Queens, NY. I grew up with a younger sister and parents who provided me with so much love and support throughout my life. They were, and continue to be my biggest fans. No matter what extra curricular activity was on my agenda, their support was the difference maker. Their positive push was what fueled me in fulfilling my various goals. I was a natural born cheerleader, which is where I began to realize that I was in love with a variety of challenging routines, as well as competitions. Soccer, not so much.

At the age of 20, I began working as a receptionist. Although I enjoyed and did very well at the job, I felt that I was lacking a clear direction as to where I would end up in life. Like most people, I had the desire to be successful. At that time though, I was still trying to figure out exactly what it was that I was going to fall in love with, be passionate about, and make a life long commitment to. All this said, there were bills to pay, so it was time for my business degree to come into play.

One rainy Sunday afternoon in 2005, after scarfing down a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on one of the largest NY bagels, something hit me. I said to myself, “something just isn’t right here.” What I proceeded to do next changed my life forever, and for the better. I took a seat in front of the computer and googled “Staten Island fitness gym.” From there, I printed out a two week pass to Bally Total Fitness, which happened to be the furthest gym from my house at the time. I got in my car, and drove there clueless as to what was about to happen. Not only did I meet the love of my life the first day I stepped foot into that gym, I also fell in love with something else. Fitness. That’s right, that rainy Sunday, I also fell in love with fitness. In fact, I believe that this was an out of body experience for me. Still, until this day, it is unclear as to what brought me through those gym doors. The one thing though that is abundantly clear is that the universe was certainly on my side. For this, I will remain forever grateful. I felt something in my gut, dug a little deeper, and went for it!

Let’s fast forward a little bit now. 13 long years had gone by before I was ready to take that leap into my dream life and say goodbye to the office job. It was draining me, and it just wasn’t where I needed or wanted to be any longer. With the support of my family, combined with a leap of faith and a miracle, I attained positive results. My love of fitness and self betterment, were beginning to transform from what was once a dream into a reality.

Through hard work, hustle, focus and dedication, I have built quite the extensive client list. Within that list, you’ll find all different types of people looking to change their lives for the better. My clients range from high school athletes, college students, corporate clients, as well as middle aged men and women who are ready to be in the best shapes of their lives. I have worked as a trainer at several gyms. While on this road, I have been fortunate enough to meet a variety of people that all have had different needs. Some wanted to lose weight, some wanted to be more toned and sculpted, and some just wanted to start looking and feeling good about themselves again. My success rate in helping people achieve those types of goals has been over the top. By nature, I have a huge heart and a humble personality. I bring those and many other attributes to the gym.

I’m tough, but understand that everyone is different. My routines and workouts are unique, which has kept everyone coming back for more.

Training sessions and fitness classes are usually 45 minutes in length, and they generally focus on the client’s goals. Within these sessions, the client is educated not only on fitness and nutrition, but on their ability to accept themselves in a confident manner.

There is no reason why you shouldn’t be in the best shape of your life! XO
